About the Role
Share your love of music with up and coming musicians of all ages. Funkytown Music Academy, near TCU, is searching for a fun, people-loving, talented instructor for Voice. Multi-instrumentalists encouraged, and will get prioritized consideration! We have 2-4 students ready to transfer in, and will work to get additional students as your schedule allows.
Requirements
High degree of professionalism, reliability, ability to work with students of all ages as well as interact well with parents of children
Pass background check, complete training, work within policies and boundaries of Funkytown Music Academy and University United Methodist Church to ensure wellbeing and safety of all students, especially children
2+ years teaching experience required
Music proficiency desired across music styles
Have your own gear and materials available for lessons, and work with us to procure anything else you'll need to teach voice
Create engaging lesson plans, document and track growth of students through clear written/typed communication with students and parents
Contribute to growth of Funkytown and students through recitals, shows, and general teamwork between instructors
About the Company
Preference is given to candidates who are:
-Available year-round (ie summer or holiday music camps)
-Multi-instrumentalists preferred
-College educated or pursuing college degree
Bonus points:
-Experience with after school programs, especially non-profit. Funkytown Music Academy is exploring ways to give back to our city and engage kids who might not otherwise be able to take music lessons
-Worship music and worship team experience. FMA is part of a church, and thus, we partner in serving the community, training for worship teams, etc.
